Reports reaching OyoAffairs has confirmed that hoodlums in Oke-Apo Area, earlier today, shot at Amotekun vans on their way to respond to a distress call given by the people of Bara Area.
In the process, one of the Amotekun Operatives, Amo Sangodeyi John, was hit in the stomach by a bullet.
It would be noted that, earlier this month, the Amotekun Operatives were also shot at by the same hoodlums when the officers went on Operation Show of Force Movement round the town.
While speaking with OyoAffairs correspondent about the event, the Commandant of the Oyo State Amotekun confirmed the incident saying, “we received another distress call the people of Bara Area, that some hoodlums were disturbing the peace of the Area, the four Local Governments in the zone proceeded to the area,at about 14:30 hrs.
“On the way through Oke Apo Area, some hoodlums just started shooting at the Amotekun vans, one Amotekun Personnel,(Amo Sangodeyi John) was hit with a bullet in the stomach.’
He further added that,”It is pertinent to note that, at this same spot at Oke-Apo, these same hoodlums shot at Amotekun Vans on the 16/12/20, when the Amotekun Corps, Oyo Zone was on the Operation Show of Force Movement round all the town. The Oyo East Local Government Chairman was part of the convoy then.”
Meanwhile, the Commandant noted that a locally made gun, which was used to shoot at the Amotekun Corps was recovered from one Idowu Taofik, a 29-year-old resident of Oke-Apo Area.
