Ibadan Media and Oyo NUJ collaborate to host 2nd annual journalists’ hangout





Popular online news platform, Ibadan Media Limited will partner with the Oyo State Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) to host the second edition of their Journalists’ hang out.



This was announced in a press statement signed and released by the organization’s publisher; Ola. O Olanrewaju. He also revealed that this year’s edition will be tagged “Tackling security challenges in Nigeria: The role of the Media – Oyo State in focus”.



He also revealed that the Security colloquium will be held at the Dapo Aderogba Hall, NUJ Secretariat, Iyaganku on the 29th of July, 2021.



The news publisher stated that they picked the NUJ to partner with for the colloquium as the event is for Oyo state journalists.



In his words; “We had a successful maiden edition in the year 2019, where we treated; Online Journalism: Professionals’ Concern For Ethical Standard, with a large turnout attendance, Covid-19 hindered us to gather for another edition in the year 2020, but this year by God’s power, we are in partnership with Oyo NUJ to stage this year’s edition of Journalists’ hang out, for us to have a productive hangout.”


“The security challenges in the country are a big concern to everybody, this is the reason why our theme for the hang out will focus on ‘Tackling Security Challenges in Nigeria: The role of Media – Oyo State in focus,’ he concluded.


The statement also revealed that renowned speakers in the security field and other contributors are in line to speak at the program and that their contributions would be forwarded to the necessary authorities for further action afterwards.
