The Governors of Nigeria’s southern states have decided that the country’s next president should come from the region.
The Southern governors issued this declaration earlier today at a meeting of the Southern Governors Forum in Lagos.
The Governors also set September 21, 2021, as the deadline for member states to pass anti-open grazing legislation.
The Governors who met at the Lagos House in Ikeja early today disclosed that the meeting was intended to define shared interests and reaffirm commitment to a unified Nigeria capable of ensuring equity, fairness, and justice in a real federalist environment.
The governors also discussed the current status of the country as it pertains to the three geopolitical zones.
