After the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde has declared August 20 as an annual public holiday to celebrate Isese day, some southwest states have also decided to follow suit.
After almost a year of Makinde’s declaration, The governments of Lagos, Osun, and Ogun states have declared Tuesday, 20 August, a public holiday to for the celebration.
The announcements were contained in separate circulars on Monday by the commissioners of information for each state.
Lagos state noted that the holiday is imperative so as to allow traditional worshippers participate actively.
Following the development, work would resume in all public offices including courts, across the state on Wednesday.
