Two Die in Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Autocrash

Two persons have reportedly died in an auto crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.

The accident which happened on Thursday evening, near Kara Bus Stop, involved a hit and run driver.

The Spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, disclosed that the victims, who were pedestrians attempting to cross the expressway, were struck by unidentified vehicles.

The Police added that they were attempting to cross without proper caution when they were hit.

Odutola also stated that the victims were rushed to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, where they were confirmed dead on arrival.

“The accident occurred at a point on the Isheri-Olofin corridor when the victims attempted to cross the expressway without a thorough view of the speeding vehicles.

“The vehicles rammed into the two victims and sped off. Their bodies have been deposited at the hospital’s morgue for preservation and autopsy. Efforts are ongoing to identify the victims and apprehend the fleeing drivers,” she stated.
