Makinde Flags-Off Palliatives Distribution To People Living With Disabilities

Oyo state Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has officially flagged-off the distribution of the third phase of palliatives distribution to 30,000 vulnerable households in the state to mitigate the underlying effects of the Coronavirus Pandemic on them.

He made the flagging-off at the car park of his office at the Secretariat in IBADAN, today explaining that before the second anniversary of his tenure in office, he would set-up an agency for the disabled in the state.

The Governor also used the opportunity to implore all to continue adhering to the precautionary measures of Covid-19 and observe hygienic methods to avoid the contraction of the disease.

The Oyo state helmsman said he had earlier flagg-off the distribution of palliatives In Iseyin as the palliatives distribution is meant for 120, 000 out of which 90,000 poorest of the poor households are included and 30,000 vulnerable households in the state.
The distribution of the palliatives is to cushion the effects of the Pandemic on the residents as the lockdown affected economic activities and had negative toll on sources of livelihood of Residents.

While appreciating the Governor for the kind gesture, one of the beneficiaries commended the Governor’s efforts at making them happy and comfortable despite their conditions.
