Fire Razes Oyo Land Ministry Facility in Ibadan

A power house serving as a store for the Oyo state’s ministry of lands has been gutted by fire.

The ministry is located within the premises of Oyo State Secretariat, Agodi Ibadan.

It was learnt that the incident occured on Wednesday.

Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service, Hon Maroof Akinwande confirmed the development in a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday,

He said; “The Firemen promptly deployed to the scene of incident and on arrival, it was a power house used as a store.

“The firemen quickly swung into action by using their facilities to cut off the supply of electricity and fire was completely extinguished without allowing it to spread to any part of the building.

“The fire was as a result of electrical sparks and ignited nearby combustibles.

“The Firemen was able to save properties worth billions of naira. No casualty was recorded as well”.
