Governor Makinde Addresses #EndSARS Protesters, Promises Release of Those Arrested

The Oyo state governor, engineer Seyi Makinde, on Tuesday, said plans are already underway to release those arrested during the recent EndSARS protest in Oyo state.

Governor Makinde stated this while addressing the #EndSARS protesters at the front gate of the Agodi, Secretariat, Ibadan, shortly after his visits to the families of those who lost their lives during the wake of the #EndSARS protest in Ogbomoso area of the state.

According to the governor, he has met with the state Attorney General, professor Oyelowo Oyewo and commissioner of police in Oyo state, CP Joe Enwonwu, so as to facilitate the immediate release of the #EndSARS protesters arrested in Oyo State.

He added that the state government will engaged the youths and roll out palliatives for them within the next one week.

Governor Makinde who vehemently harped that police brutality must stop, emphasized that SARS will no longer exist in Oyo state.
