Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, a prominent figure in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is currently in a closed-door meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House in Abuja.
The meetings come against the backdrop of ongoing political realignments as key stakeholders commence strategic consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections
Governor Seyi Makinde arrived shortly after Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, who recently defected from the PDP to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Governor Makinde was a central member of the G-5; a group of five PDP governors who opposed Atiku Abubakar’s presidential candidacy in the 2023 election and actively campaigned against the party’s ticket.
