Traditionally the masquerade parades annually within the Ibadan metropolis at least days in late July.

By his parade and festival, the Ibadan indigenes conclude the festival will be suspended until the following year.

The masquerade is believed to pray for abundance, entertain various compounds in the city, with severe warning to female individuals to watch its movement.

Meanwhile, social commentators have warned the supporters of the Oloolu Masquerade to shun violence which could be hijacked by unruly elements for pickpocket, public attack and plundering.

The police and other security agents have been urged to maintain peace and order throughout the Masquerade parade.
