Prayers Can Also Be Answered in Nigeria — Makinde Faults Tinubu Over Saudi Trip

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has criticised President Bola Tinubu over his reported trip to Saudi Arabia to pray for Nigeria, saying the government must tell citizens the truth about the country’s situation.

Makinde, who is the presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in the 2027 elections, said himself and Nigerians would pray for the country and its leaders without leaving the country, insisting that the nation’s future is a collective responsibility.

“I saw on social media that President Bola Tinubu is travelling to Saudi Arabia to pray for Nigeria. Well, we will stay here, we will pray for Nigeria, we will also pray for our leaders, because Nigeria belongs to all of us,” he said.

The governor who said it at a south east engagement meeting noted that the country’s progress would benefit everyone, adding that the Tinubu’s government should stop deceiving the masses.

“As I always say, when the tide is high, all the boats will rise. They should stop all the deceits and tell Nigeria the exact, true situation of things, so that as we are praying, our prayers will not be in vain,” Makinde said.
