2023: Ex-CoS, Ilaka to Run for Senatorial Seat Again


The immediate past Chief of Staff to the Oyo State Governor, Chief Bisi Ilaka has declared his intention to vie for the Oyo Central senatorial seat in the 2023 elections.

Making this known during an interview with newsmen, Ilaka said that despite his previous losses in elections he is determined to contest under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party and win this time around.

Ilaka being the Ladilu of Oyo Kingdom received that the 2019 elections was lost to Teslim Folarin because the APC candidates for the House of Representatives from Ogooluwa/ Suurulere Federal Constituency and Egbeda/ Ona Ara Federal Constituency pulled their votes in for the APC candidate as opposed to his case in PDP.

Earlier, rumors had it that the Ladilu of Oyo Kingdom is the candidate who will certainly get the PDP ticket to contest for the Senatorial elections come 2023 while everyone awaits the Governor to indicate interest for a second term in power.

It will be recalled that, Chief Ilaka had previously contested National Assembly positions in 2011 and 2015 under the Accord party and also contested the 2019 Senatorial election in the Peoples Democratic Party and lost to the current Senate commitee on local contents chairman, Senator Teslim Folarin by six thousand votes.
