The Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, this evening, recorded a 1-0 victory against Katsina FC at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.
The Oluyole Warriors prevailed courtesy of a 63rd-minute effort by new signing Wasiu Alalade in the second half of the match.
The game was keenly played in the first half with both teams holding a one-minute silence in respect of late Oba Saliu Adetunji.
Meanwhile, Shooting Stars head coach, Olumide Agoye has expressed his elation as his team won a 1-0 against Katsina United.
“Today, we were able to possess the ball, be in control, and gradually the boys are settling down to playing in the NPFL and we are very happy as well that we created chances and scored one of them”, Agoye said.
Commenting on what gave 3SC the much-needed victory today, Agoye explained that his boys had determined to give all their best even before the match.
“Before the match, my players had determined to get the maximum points. I’m happy for the drive Wasiu Alalade and Ebenezer Odeyemi brought in at the attack but I can tell you if Wasiu didn’t score, another player would have scored.”
The Oluyole Warriors are now 13th on the table with 5 points so far, drawing 2 games, losing to Lobi stars, and their first winning of the season against Katsina FC who are now 18th on the table with just 3 points.
