3SC stroll to easy victory over Vandrezzer FC

In a top-of-the-table Match day 10 clash with Vandrezzer FC of Lagos, The Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan (3SC) emerged as winners in an enthralling contest played at the Dipo Dina stadium, Ijebu-ode.

The game began promptly at 4:00pm and after a slightly nervy start, the Oluyole boys slowly began to grow into the game and string together some incisive attacks.

By the 12th minute, their positive attacking play was rewarded after Malomo Ayodeji put them ahead. Vandrezzer FC players were unable to properly clear a set piece launched into their penalty box from the left wing and after the ball had pinballed around the area, Malomo found himself in the right position to slam the ball home.

The visitors rallied after the goal and predictably tried to get themselves level but the Oluyole boys’ rearguard impressively stood up to every attack that came their way, repelling them with ease. The half-time whistle eventually separated the players with 3SC heading into the break with a narrow 1-0 lead.

After the interval, the Vandrezzer boys renewed their onslaught on the 3SC goal but the man in between the sticks, Okanlawon Laide was at his imperious best, making several good saves to keep his team ahead. Vandrezzer’s ‘keeper meanwhile, got himself sent off after insulting the referee, letting his team down and leaving them facing almost certain defeat.

The Oluyole warriors had several chances to make the game safe but somehow, the score remained 1-0 until the last minute of added time when Fatai Gbadamosi scored with almost literally the last kick of the game to confirm the victory.
