Four residents were confirmed dead on Monday, following an attack by gunmen in Oke-Ogun area of Oyo state.
The spokesperson of the Oyo Police Command, CSP Olugbenga Fadeyi, who confirmed the attack in a statement issued on Monday, said the gunmen ran away before the police got to the scene of the attack.
He also noted that the police officers were able to recover the corpses of the victims, and deposited them at a morgue.
Fadeyi, however, did not specify what led to the attack but stated that the command is already making efforts to arrest the perpetrators of the crime, whom he said are on the run.
“It was reliably gathered that unknown gunmen attacked and killed four men at Kokobido village Idiko Ile via Ijio at about 0300 hrs of today 8/3/21,” Fadeyi said.
“The DPO, Ijio, quickly moved into the scene and removed corpses to Fadok Hospital morgue for autopsy.
