4 Kidnappers Paraded, 33 others for different crimes in Ibadan

The Oyo State Police Command paraded 37 criminals today, including 4 suspected kidnappers for their alleged involvement in several crimes.

Parading the Suspects on Thursday at the Command Headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, the Oyo state Commissioner of Police Mrs. Ngozi Onadeko stated that the four suspected kidnappers were those terrorizing Ibarapa, Igboora and Eruwa areas of the state. 33 other suspects were also paraded for offences ranging from alleged sodomy to car snatching and pick pocketing.

The Police Boss indicated that three of the kidnap suspects abducted their victim on April 7 around Ayete in Ibarapa area of the state and collected ransom before releasing him.

The Kidnap victim Yami Kereku, alerted the police command while after carefully and positively identifying one of the Kidnappers, while working in the community.

Onadeko said the intel gathered from the arrested kidnapper led to the arrest of the other kidnapping suspects. She revealed that the other kidnapping suspect was arrested in Eruwa area of the state.

The Commissioner of Police said that 30 suspects who were arrested for alleged pick pocketing were apprehended in the hotel where they lodged.

She said the suspects came from Lagos State, thinking Oyo State would be easier for them to operate.

She listed laptops, phones, cash and hard drugs as exhibits and items retrieved from the gang of thieves.

Onadeko reiterated the Police readiness to tackle any form of crime and criminality in the state stating that the Oyo state will not be a hiding area for criminals.
