Ibadan EFCC Arrest Bitcoin Vendor, Four Others


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibadan Zonal Office, on Friday, announced the arrest of a Bitcoin trader suspects for his alleged involvement in cyber-crime.

The trader, Ayomide Samuel Adebowale, was picked up by EFCC operatives at Elebu, Ibadan along with four other suspects after the EFCC received some intelligence about their alleged fraudulent activities.
The names of the other four suspects are: Mayowa Jolaoso Segun, Babatunde Segun Adeyinka, Philip Gabriel and Abiodun Tolulope Emmanuel.
As quoted in the arrest documents: “Items recovered from them include two cars, laptops, phones and some documents suspected to contain false pretenses.”
The anti-graft agency has since said they will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is completed.
