JUST IN: Ladoja Absent as Olubadan-in-Council Endorses Lekan Balogun as Next Olubadan

The Olubadan-in-Council has announced Chief Lekan Balogun as Olubadan-designate.

The council on Wednesday, made the announcement at a press conference at Mapo Hall in Ibadan, Oyo state capital.

Recall that the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji, joined his ancestors on January 2nd, 2022 at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, Oyo state.

However, after a two-hour closed-door meeting, the High Chiefs endorsed Senator Balogun as the next king, maintaining that it would follow tradition in naming the next Olubadan despite the controversy surrounding the succession plan.

Meanwhile, it has been gathered that former governor Rashidi Ladoja, Osi Olubadan, was absent while the other 10 High Chiefs, were present.
