Residents, Secondary School Students, Teachers Clash In Ogbomoso

The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) have vowed that no teacher would resume at Areago Community High School, Ogbomoso, untill their safety is guaranteed.

NUT Chairman, Ogbomoso North Local Government Area, Mr. Tunde Oladapo made this declaration while speaking with Newsmen.

Mr Oladapo was reacting to the recent attack on some teachers in the school.

Reports say some residents in the community had allegedly clashed with some students on Thursday last week.

Mr. Oladapo, who insisted that no teacher would resume in the school until their safety is guaranteed, explained that all the teachers would resume at TESCOM office from today Monday 25th November, 2024.

The NUT leader said that the union could not afford to jeopardise the safety of the teachers.

He added that he was surprised that some residents went to beat the teachers at the time the NUT and other stakeholders were at the Police station to bail the arrested vice principal and other staff of the school.
