Two Escaped Death After Building Under Construction Collapses in Ibadan

A tragic incident unfolded in Ibadan on Tuesday, June 24th, 2025, when a story was being built under construction at Ruby’s Court Estate, behind Saint Anne’s School, Olorunsogo Molete, Ibadan collapsed.

The swift response to the emergency by the Oyo State Fire Service Agency rescued two male individuals trapped under the debris.

No casualty was recorded, and the one who sustained a serious injury was taken to the nearby hospital for necessary medical attention.

The Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service Reforms/Agency, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed the incident to our correspondence.

He said, “The emergency was reported at exactly 13:53hrs on Tuesday, 24th June,202,5, through a telephone call, and Mr. Adebayo reported that the building under construction at the above address had collapsed.

‘The Agency’s personnel, led by ACFS Adekola (Mrs.), promptly deployed to the scene of the incident, and on getting to the place, it was a storey building under construction that collapsed, and two persons were trapped.

However, the two male persons were rescued alive and the one who sustained a serious injury was taken to the nearby hospital.
