The Oyo State Government has intensified its monitoring of ongoing infrastructure projects across the state as part of efforts to ensure quality delivery, adherence to project specifications and completion within approved timelines.

The Chairman of the Oyo State Project Performance Monitoring Agency (OYSPPMA), Hon. Oluwaseun Abiodun Laurel, stated this during an inspection of some major government projects, including the inner-road reconstruction and rehabilitation project in Ogbomoso, the Senator Rasidi Ladoja Circular Road and the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport upgrade.

Speaking on the Ogbomoso inner-road project, the Chairman described the pace of work as gradual and urged the contractor to handle the project to increase the tempo of construction activities to ensure timely completion.
The project covers selected inner roads across Ogbomoso, including the routes linking Akande Market to Jalubo Junction and Caretaker to Ora Garage Bridge, among other roads.

The intervention is in fulfilment of the commitment made by Governor Seyi Makinde in 2025 to reconstruct and rehabilitate selected inner roads across Ogbomoso North and Ogbomoso South Local Government Areas.

At the Senator Rasidi Ladoja Circular Road project site, Hon. Laurel observed that construction work was progressing well and in accordance with the established work schedule.

Similarly, his assessment of the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport upgrade showed that work on both the landside and airside components was progressing well and remained on course to meet the scheduled delivery date.

The Chairman stressed the importance of continuous monitoring and evaluation in ensuring that government projects are executed according to approved standards, specifications and timelines, while delivering value for public resources.

He noted that the Agency would sustain its monitoring activities across the state to identify implementation challenges, assess contractors’ performance and ensure that ongoing projects meet their intended objectives.

The projects are part of the infrastructure development initiatives of the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, aimed at improving road connectivity, transportation infrastructure and socioeconomic development across Oyo State.

The Oyo State Project Performance Monitoring Agency is mandated to monitor and evaluate government projects, promote accountability in project execution and ensure compliance with approved implementation standards.
