Political thugs allegedly associated with the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State on Thursday, killed the councillor representing ward 10, Ibadan South East Local Government, Oyo State capital.

The thugs, who were reported to have unleashed terror on a campaign train of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters in a foil assassination attempt, also attacked the member representing Ibadan South East / North East, Federal Constituency, Hon Abass Agboworin.

Oyo PDP in a reaction made available to OyoAffairs.net described perpetrators of such grievous acts as enemies of poor masses desperate to assume power.

“It is so sad that the enemies of the poor masses masquerading as APC supporters could be so desperate to the extent of attacking the campaign team of our party in Ibadan Southeast injuring several people and also killed the Councillor representing Ward 10 of Ibadan Southeast.

“To God be the glory, the Honourable representing Ibadan Southeast/ Northeast, Hon Abass Adigun Agboworin escaped death by whisker.

“We in Oyo State PDP believe as a peace loving party, our government under the able leadership of the people’s Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, and the security agencies will do the needful to bring the criminals in APC garbs to book,” Oyo PDP stated.
