Aseyin, Traditional Council Pick September 12 for 2021 Oro Festival in Iseyin

The Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Dr. Abdulganiy Salawudeen Adekunle Oloogunebi Ajinese 1, as well as the Iseyin local government traditional council and the Royal family committee, have chosen Sunday, September 12th, 2021 as the date for the town’s 2021 Oro Festival.

The festival, which will consist of three special days for prayers, appeasements, and sacrifices the first day, which was the evening of Sunday, September 12th, the evening of ‘Ije Day’ (Seventh Day) Saturday, September 18th, and the evening of ‘Itadogun Day’ (Fifteenth Day), was communicated in a statement signed by the Aseyin after a meeting with the traditional council and the Oro priests on Thursday at his palace.

The relevance of the three days may be seen in the sacrifices made for the twin’s and inhabitants’ advancement, as well as the fact that women are not permitted to see the Oro masquerades.

Aseyin urged the Oyo State Government, security agencies, and community sons and daughters to work with the Aseyin-in-Council to make the Oro celebration in 2021 a success.

The monarch also honored Oba Soliu Adetunji, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, on his 93rd birthday, characterizing the king as a forerunner of modern development.

Oba Ajinese prayed for more fruitful years on the throne for the Olubadan of Ibadan, describing the reigning monarch’s rule in the capital city as durable and affluent.

“The reign of Oba Soliu Adetunji is commendable and worthy of praying for, as an Oba, the city of Ibadan has witnessed many development and peaceful atmosphere, which are direct effects of his uncommon leadership style.

“I pray that he lives more to witness more progress of the city of Ibadan and its environ, as well as Oyo State in general.”

Aseyin also urged the people of Oyo State to work to promote the current administration in the state, claiming that the government has made governance simple for the general public to comprehend.

“The success of the Seyi Makinde-led administration, according to Oba Dr. Adekunle, may be attributed to the bottom-up government style, which has endeared many residents to the government.

“This governor has shown us that governance is not abracadabra, he has made it known to even fellow politicians that Oyo State has what it takes to lead other States of the federation in the area of free and qualitative education, affordable healthcare services, infrastructural development, which include the concluded Moniya-Iseyin road, the recently approved Iseyin-Ogbomoso road, the Iseyin-Oyo road and the establishment of the College of Agricultural Science and Renewable Resources of LAUTECH in Iseyin.

“We are indeed grateful to the government of Governor Makinde and on behalf of my people, I assure him of our cooperation and support for the government’s policies, actions, and programs,” Aseyin assured.
