Atisbo LG Loses Former Chairman, Akogun to Accident

The immediate past executive chairman of Atisbo local government, Hon. Wasiu Owolabi Akogun on Monday took his last breath at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, after being involved in a ghastly motor accident last Thursday.

Hon. Akogun as he is popularly called, reportedly died yesterday at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital at about 9:15pm, owing to the pain and fractures from the multiple injuries he sustained in an accident involving his Lexus Jeep at Igbeti, along Shaki-Ilorin Road, on his way to Alhikimah University, where he was running his postgraduate diploma in International Relations.

According to a statement released by his brother on his Facebook account, the remains of the deceased will be committed to mother earth according to Islamic rites by 4 p.m. today, at his residence in Irawo Owode.

Meanwhile, Prince Wasiu Owolabi Akogun, a young and dedicated APC Chieftain, who is survived by family, wife and children, clocked forty last year October.
