BECE: Oyo Govt Cancels Cultural Creative Art, Arabic Language Over Technical Errors

The Oyo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology under the leadership of Barr. Rahman Abiodun Abdul-Raheem, has cancelled Cultural Creative Art and Arabic Language Subjects in the ongoing Basic Education Certification Examination (BECE) over technical errors.

The ministry however announced that the Cultural Creative Art and Arabic Language subjects which have been written will be rewritten.

The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Barr Abdulraheem Abdulrahman made the announcement on Tuesday while monitoring the BECE in five local governments within the Ibadan Metropolis.

The commissioner who lauded the compliance of schools visited for obeying the rules and regulations of the terminal examinations, stated that over 150,000 students are sitting for the ongoing BECE across the state.

According to him, 178 students were present in the examination hall at Orogun Grammar School while at Isabatudeen Girls’ Grammar school, there were 125 students during the monitoring.

Barr Abdulrahman added that the state Ministry of Education will review the teaching patterns of teachers in public schools across the state, to improve the knowledge of the students.

Meamwhile, the entourage also used the opportunity to monitor the ongoing National Examination Council Examination (NECO) in some Schools.
