Bodija Market Inferno: Ibadan North Council Chair, Agba Egbe Visits Scene, Promises to Support Victims

The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Yusuff Saib Oladayo popularly known as Agba Egbe, has paid an on-the-spot visit to Bodija market and promised that the government will assist traders who lost their shops and wares in the fire incident, which occured at the Bodija market.

Agba Egbe said this few hours after he visited the scene of the incident to sympathise with the traders, who lost millions of naira in the inferno.

Recall that Oyoaffairs.net had earlier reported that the popular and the biggest market in Oyo State was gutted by fire in the early hours of Monday, 11th July, 2022 and how the Oyo State Fire Service had promptly intervened.

The council chairman described the incident as pathetic and promised that the government at the local level would in his capacity make sure the basic things are put in place.

Agba said; “I sympathise with you on this incident, especially you women trying to earn a living and keep body and soul together. This is indeed a very pathetic incident, and it’s sad the incident occurred at a time we all need to rest and enjoy the holidays.

“Residents should cultivate the habit of turning off their electrical appliances, not in use. It should be part and parcel of our everyday life, as it will help us all avert future occurrences”, he added.
