Fifty-two National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members are to repeat their service year as 2,371 corps members pass out in Oyo state for the 2021 Batch ‘A’ stream one category.
Speaking at the passing out ceremony at the Adamasigba stadium, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe said that the corps members would have to be remobilised for various offences yet to be disclosed.
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) established in 1973, was set up by the Nigerian government during the military regime to involve Nigerian graduates in nation building and the development of the country.
However criticisms have continued to trail the purpose with which it was founded, as many now abscond their place of primary assignment or relocate from states of deployment owing to insecurity, crimes and violence, among others.
