BREAKING: Oyo Assembly Approves Wasilat, Ajetunmobi As Commissioners-Designates

The Oyo State House of Assembly has approved the nominations of Wasilat Adegoke and Dr Oluwaserimi Ajetumobi as Commissioners-Designate, following a request by Governor Seyi Makinde. The screening and approval took place during the assembly’s plenary sitting today.

With the addition of these two Commissioners, the total number of Commissioners in the state executive council now stands at 18, as the Governor had previously sworn in 16 Commissioners last month.

During the screening process, Wasilat Adegoke, a 29-year-old from Lanlate, expressed her gratitude to the Governor and highlighted the achievements in youth development and provision of sporting facilities. She stated her desire to align with the Governor’s vision for the state.

The Commissioners-designate were not subjected to intense questioning, as the Leader of the House, Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin, remarked that Governor Makinde’s nomination could not be wrong, given his ability to identify talent. He urged the house to allow them to take a bow and leave the chamber.

In response, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Adebo Ogundoyin, noted that the duo were not subjected to rigorous grilling because they are new to their positions. He stated that the House would give them a few months to settle into their offices before inviting them to provide situation reports in their respective ministries.

The house then directed Wasilat Adegoke and Dr Oluwaserimi Ajetumobi to take a bow and leave the chamber.
