President Muhammadu Buhari will arrive in Lagos tomorrow to commission the 156km Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge railway line, the first double-track standard gauge rail line in West Africa.
Construction of the project started in March 2017 and the test-running began in December 2020.
Part of a statement released by the president’s media team read: “President Buhari is committed to developing a modern national railway network that will connect every part of Nigeria, and promote trade, travel, tourism, commerce and national integration.”
