Cause Of Friday Tanker Gas Explosion in Ibadan Emerges

The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Southwest Zone has revealed the cause of a tanker gas explosion that happened in Ibadan on Friday.

South west Zonal coordinator of the agency, Mr Olanrewaju Kadiri who revealed this while briefing stakeholders on the report of the incident said the fire was as a result of leakage from one of the compartment of a gas tanker belonging to Nordock Energy.

Mr. Kadiri said the incident happened at Ashi Bodija along Ojoo expressway in Ibadan

He said “NEMA South West Zonal Office today 20th December,2024 received a distress alert of a fire incident at Ashi Bodija along Ojo Express way Ibadan , the Zonal Coordinator Mr Olanrewaju Kadiri Swiftly mobilized all response Stakeholders to the scene.

“The Oyo State fire Service with assistance from other Stakeholders were able to put the fire under control and prevented it from spreading to other buildings within the parameter.

“The fire was as a result of leakage from one of the compartment of a gas tanker belonging to Nordock Energy.

“The operation was successful as a result of Team work and synergy from all response Stakeholders present.” He added
