Commissioner Advocates For Swift Implementation of Sexual and Gender Based Violence Bill in Oyo

The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion in Oyo state, Alhaja Faosat Sanni, has solicited for speedy implementation of the 2006 Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Bill and pleaded for the support of relevant organisations to protect the child’s right act.

This came after the gruesome rape and killings of Barakat Bello and Azeezat Shomuyiwa in Akinyele Local Government Area of the state; which has led to intensified effort by the Oyo State government through the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion to campaign against rape in the country.

As a result, the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion joined other Nigerians to demand justice for Barakat Bello, Azeezat Shomuyiwa, and other victims of rape across the country.
