Court Remands Two for Defiling 15-year-old in Ibadan

The Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, on Thursday March 03, 2022 ordered that two men be remanded in a Correctional Centre for allegedly defiling a 15-year-old.

The culprits – Adesoji Adedeji (37) and Yusuf Taiwo (37), were charged with conspiracy and defilement by the police.

Meanwhile, Magistrate I. O. Osho did not take the plea of Messrs Adedeji and Taiwo for lack of jurisdiction, as she explained that the court awaited legal advice from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Prosecution Counsel, Foluke Adedosu told the court that the suspects committed the offence in June 2019, stating that the offence is punishable under Section 358 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The case has however been adjourned until May 2, 2022 for mention.
