Don’t Inherit My Enemies, Chart Your Own Path – Makinde to Bimbo Adekanmbi

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has advised the Allied People’s Movement (APM) governorship consensus candidate in Oyo State, Bimbo Adekanbi, not to inherit his political enemies but rather chart his own path if elected into office.

Makinde gave the advice while speaking at the Presidential/Governorship Primary Election Exercise of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), where he urged Adekanbi to remain focused on governance and service to the people.

According to the governor, leadership comes with human imperfections, noting that mistakes are inevitable in public office.
“Don’t inherit my enemies, chart your own path. I am only human and I make mistakes,” Makinde said.

The governor also charged the APM governorship candidate to build on the achievements of his administration and ensure improved governance for the benefit of the people of Oyo State.

“Ensure you improve upon anything we have done for the benefit of our people,” he added.

Addressing party faithful and residents of the state, Makinde reflected on his administration’s achievements under the Omituntun agenda, expressing confidence that the next phase of governance would surpass previous accomplishments.

“You have experienced my first term, Omituntun 1.0. You have experienced my second term, Omituntun 2.0. Omituntun 3.0 is loading and I assure you that Bimbo Adekanbi will serve you better,” the governor stated.

The governor’s remarks drew applause from party supporters and stakeholders at the event, as the APM intensifies preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections in Oyo State.
