Operatives from the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have apprehended 10 individuals suspected of illegal mining in Ogbomoso, Oyo State. The suspects were found with six trucks of lithium.
The individuals apprehended by the gallant officers of the EFCC are: Yunusa Adisa, Ganiyu Kazeem, Muideen Babayemi, Sulaiman Usman, Adeleke Waliu, Tiamiyu Rokeeb, Olusola Sunday, Oyedokun Oluwagbemiga, Sulaimon Ishiaq, and Olufimihan Eniola.
The arrests were made following credible intelligence suggesting the suspects’ involvement in the criminal extraction and transportation of solid mineral resources, particularly lithium, to unknown destinations.
The suspects would be charged to court once investigations are complete.
