Explore Non-Kinetic Measures for Oriire Abductees – Maharaj Ji Urges Makinde

The Founder of the One Love Family and Living Perfect Master, Satguru Maharaj Ji, has called on Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, to prioritise non-kinetic approaches in securing the release of teachers and pupils abducted in Oriire Local Government Area, while also advocating a level playing field for all political actors ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Maharaj Ji expressed concern over the continued captivity of the victims and urged the state government and security agencies to complement security operations with intelligence gathering, community engagement, and traditional conflict-resolution mechanisms capable of facilitating the safe return of the abductees.

The spiritual leader commended Governor Makinde for visiting the affected communities and meeting with families of the kidnapped teachers and pupils, describing the move as a demonstration of compassion and responsive leadership.

According to him, all available options that could guarantee the safe rescue of the victims should be pursued.

“We appreciate Governor Makinde’s commitment to the rescue of the victims and his reassurance to their families. At this sensitive moment, every strategic option that can guarantee the safe return of these innocent children and their teachers should be explored,” Maharaj Ji said.

He stressed that the safety and well-being of the abducted schoolchildren and teachers should remain the foremost priority of government and security agencies.

Beyond the security situation, Maharaj Ji also weighed in on the political climate ahead of the 2027 elections, urging political leaders and stakeholders to conduct themselves responsibly as political activities intensify.

He maintained that democratic competition should be based on ideas, programmes and leadership competence rather than divisive rhetoric or actions capable of threatening national stability.

The One Love Family founder argued that all political parties and aspirants should enjoy equal opportunities to engage voters and canvass support without intimidation, manipulation or undue advantage.

“The nation is entering a critical political season. There must be a level playing field for all contestants. Democracy flourishes when candidates are allowed to compete freely based on their vision, competence and track record. The electorate should be the ultimate judge,” he stated.

Maharaj Ji further cautioned against inflammatory political statements capable of heightening tensions, noting that Nigeria’s security and economic challenges require leaders to promote unity and constructive engagement rather than deepen existing divisions.

He added that the ongoing efforts to secure the release of the Oriire abductees should serve as a reminder that governance must remain focused on protecting lives and improving citizens’ welfare.

According to him, sustainable national development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace, justice and political inclusiveness.

The spiritual leader therefore called on security agencies, community leaders and political stakeholders to work together in the interest of national stability, expressing optimism that the abducted teachers and pupils would soon regain their freedom while Nigeria continues its democratic journey toward the 2027 elections.
