I believe Oriire School Abduction was Orchestrated by Makinde to Blackmail Tinubu – Ayodele Fayose

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has alleged that the recent abduction involving pupils and teachers in Oyo State may have been orchestrated to embarrass President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Fayose made the allegation on a Channels Tv Interview while reacting to the handling of the abduction incident in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, which has continued to generate widespread concern across the country.

According to the former governor, the response of the Oyo State Government to the incident raised questions, alleging that Governor Seyi Makinde failed to act promptly after the incident occurred.

“I sometimes believe that the abduction at Oyo school was orchestrated by the Oyo State Government to blackmail President Tinubu,” Fayose alleged.

He further criticised the state government’s handling of the situation, claiming that authorities delayed their response while families of the victims remained in distress.

“Because he didn’t take any action, it was after two weeks that he went there and we saw the victims crying,” Fayose said.

The former governor’s comments come amid growing tension and public outrage over the continued captivity of abducted pupils and teachers from schools in Oriire Local Government Area.

The incident has triggered protests in Ibadan and led to an indefinite strike declared by the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Oyo State Wing, over concerns for the safety of teachers and students.

Relatives of the abducted victims have repeatedly appealed to the government and security agencies to intensify efforts toward securing their release, while civil society groups and residents continue to demand improved security measures across the state.
