Fagbemi Urges Schools, Philanthropists, Others to Contribute to Tennis Development in Oyo State

The Chairman of the Oyo State Tennis Association, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi has assured tennis and sports lovers in the state that more activities to discover future stars are in the plan and will soon kick off.

Fagbemi, who doubles as Chairman, Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA) also urged individuals, schools, philanthropists, and politicians to work together with the state tennis association to develop future stars.

In a statement issued by the association’s head of media and publicity, Olusola Alabi, Fagbemi said that talent discovery is not a day job and cannot be handled by just one person alone.

Fagbemi, who called on politicians to sponsor tennis and football competitions to discover future stars at the grassroots noted that: “It is time to give tennis more attention as our culture has given attention to other sports, and schools should include tennis as a sport because it’s a great way to develop players and find future stars.”

He, however, advised parents and guidance to allow their children who have a passion for Tennis game to pursue their dream.
