The Federal government of Nigeria in response to the non-sighting of the crescent in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, has decided to extend the public holiday for the Eid-El-Fitr celebration to Thursday. This decision comes after initially declaring a two-day holiday for Tuesday and Wednesday last week.
The Ministry of Interior Permanent Secretary, Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, announced the additional public holiday on Tuesday, stating that Thursday, 11th April 2024, has been approved as an extra day off to mark this year’s Eid-El-Fitr celebration.
Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of a month of spiritual rejuvenation. He also emphasized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to ensuring a safe and prosperous Nigeria for all its citizens.
