Three members of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) who were detained for their alleged role in the arrest of suspected Fulani warlord Iskilu Wakili have been released after a ruling by a Magistrate Court sitting in Ibadan, the Oyo State’s capital city.
The trio who were arrested, charged to court and subsequent detained were released on Tuesday by an Iyaganku Magistrate Court based on advice by the Department of Public Prosecution (DPP) advised.
It would be recalled that the trio, Dauda Kazeem, Awodele Adedigba and Ramon Hassan were arrested in March over the illegal arrest of Wakili who became famous for allegedly terrorissing the Ayete community and other adjourning villages in Ibarapa area of Oyo state
They were initially granted bail on health ground but have now been released without charges by the court.
The court ruled that the suspects should not be charged for any offense because there is no evidence to charge against them.
Meanwhile, the Oyo State Coordinator of OPC, Comrade Rotimi Oguntade also known as Oluomo confirmed the released of the three OPC members to newsmen in Ibadan.
