Governor Makinde Expresses Readiness to Support South Africa Returnees

Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has expressed readiness to support Indigenes of the state who were affected by Xenophobia in South Africa.

He made the expression when he received 32 Indigenes of the state of behalf of the State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, at the Conference room of the Head of Service in Ibadan, the Oyo state’s capital.

Speaking through his deputy, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan, he noted that there will be a compilation of their profiles and urged the returnees to prepare their proposals for materialization asserting that there is new Dawn in Oyo state.

Also speaking during the same reception, the administrative Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency, Abdulrahman Balogun, said the state Government has partnered with agencies for rehabilitation and empowerment of the South-African returnees.

The South-African returnees while recalling the moments they experienced during the attack, described the moments as dastardly and worrisome.

Oyo Affairs Correspondent, Bimpe Soga-Oke, reports that the total number of Indigenes of Oyo state among the returnees are 32 in number and they were given N30, 000 each by the State Government.
