Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has distributed the first set of digitized Certificate of Occupancy, (C of O), to successful applicants under the Oyo State Home Owners Charter (OYHOC) scheme.
The event which took place at the Government House, Agodi, Ibadan was done with strict adherence to COVID-19 safety measures.
While presenting the certificates to the beneficiaries, Governor Makinde noted that the initiative came to fore after a series of attempts by the previous administrations to issue a digitized Certificate of Occupancy failed.
In his address, the state Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Barrister Abiodun Abdu-Raheem, said 200 Certificate of Occupancy has been approved for the first set of beneficiaries and work has commenced on the second batch of successful applicants.
In a chat with newsmen, beneficiaries of the C-of-O bared their minds on the certificate received during the event which was graced by top government officials and crème de la crème from the housing sector.
