Governor Seyi Makinde Hands Over Pacesetter Fruit Juice Company to Private Firm

Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on Thursday, handed over the Pacesetter Fruit Juice Company limited to a private firm with the aim of resuscitating the moribund fruit processing company.

The handing over event held at Oko in Ogbomoso had in attendance top Government officials which include the Oyo state deputy Governor, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan; the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Olubanwo Adeosun; the Chief of Staff, Bisi Ilaka, amongst others.

While speaking during the ceremony which also recorded the attendance of Monarchs, Chiefs, Religious and political leaders, Governor Makinde stated that the Project will be executed via Public-Private Partnership, noting that the Indigenes would start deriving value for their money.

In his address, the Director-General, Oyo state Public-Private Partnership, OYSIPA, Mr. Segun Ogunwuyi, explained that the Fruits company was commissioned in 2007 under the leadership of former Governor Rashidi Ladoja but has never been in operation, stressing that the project would yield economical advantage when become functional.

In his remark, the Oloko of Oko, Oba Solomon Olagoke, assured the investors of security during the course of the assignment which according to the Governor would be executed within six months.
