Governor Seyi Makinde visits Soun of Ogbomoso, Victims Family

The Oyo state governor, engineer Seyi Makinde, this Tuesday, paid on the spot assessment visit to the Ogbomoso land, and the palace of the Soun of Ogbomoso, His Imperial majesty, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi Oladunni, Ajagungbade the III, following a recent attack on the monarch’s palace during the recent #EndSARS protest in Ogbomoso.

Oyo Affairs correspondent, who monitored situations at the palace of the Soun of Ogbomoso, reports that the hoodlums destroyed properties worth millions in the main palace of the monarch, ransacked and destroyed properties in an adjacent building to the Soun’s palace, popularly known as Oba Oladunni hall, as well as about ten vehicles damaged.

Governor Makinde, who was accompanied by other top government officials to sympathize with the monarch, inspected the nooks and crannies of the palace to see for themselves properties damaged during the #EndSARS protest by the hoodlums.

The governor, while addressing the monarch and palace chiefs, ordered the immediate release of N100 million for the renovation of the palace.

He added that some of the vehicles damaged will be repaired while others will be replaced with brand new ones.

Governor Seyi Makinde and other top government officials also paid a visit to the family of Mr. Ishaq Jimoh, the man who lost his life during the recent #EndSARS protest in the Ogbomoso land.
