Reports have emerged that Segun Adegboyega, a pastor, was allegedly killed by individuals suspected to be herdsmen on his farm in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
The incident is said to have occurred on Monday on the pastor’s farm situated at Gege village along the Ogbomoso-Iseyin Road. It was discovered that three individuals have been apprehended in connection with the crime and have since been transferred to the custody of the Owode Police headquarters.
In response to the tragic event, the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, has urged the populace to maintain peace in the wake of the incident. He assured the community that those responsible for the killing would face the consequences of their actions and emphasized his commitment to collaborating with law enforcement to ensure justice for the deceased’s family.
Addressing the community on Monday evening, Olaoye expressed his concern over the distressing situation, stating, “This is an unfortunate and unwarranted occurrence. I have conveyed my thoughts to the Area Commander of Owode Police headquarters, who is present with me, and I want to assure you that justice will prevail. I extend my sympathies to each and every one of you, and may God continue to watch over you and the entire land of Ogbomoso.”
