How Tragedy was averted after Fully Loaded Tanker Catches Fire in Ibadan

A fully loaded 33,000 fuel tanker went up in flames at the Iyaganku area of Ibadan after it flipped and overturned.

The Fuel truck coming from the Challenge area of Ibadan lost control, plunged into the ditch along Iyaganku, and caught fire minutes after.

The Deputy Director, Oyo State Fire Service, Mr. Moshood Adewuyi, who confirmed the incident in a chat with Oyo Affairs correspondent explained that four fire trucks were immediately moved to the scene of the incident in a bid to arrest the fire before it spreads to a nearby petrol station.

He stressed that firefighters have arrived at the scene of the incident before the fuel tanker caught fire.

He noted that the driver of the fuel truck is saved as well as other occupants on board.

As at the time of filing this report, all roads and routes that lead to Iyaganku and Alashinloye area of Ibadan have been thrown into a heavy gridlock as a result of the incident while officers of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), have arrived at the area for proper traffic management.
