I Didn’t Order Any Party Member’s Arrest — Oyo APC Chairman

Oyo APC Chairman, Hon Isaac Omodewu has denied having a hand in the alleged detention of a member of a party in Ibadan Southwest, one Mr. Sunday Babalola.

It would be recalled that the said member was arrested in Ibadan on Wednesday, owing to alleged leadership tussle in the council area.

However, Omodewu who reacted from Abuja where he was attending the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of his party, refuted the accusations urging people to disregard such news.

According to him, “I was not aware of any arrest. I didn’t report anybody. The said man isn’t a known person to me and he hasn’t offended me. Anybody who says I ordered anybody’s arrest or wrote any petition, should come forward”, he stated.

Omodewu in a telephone chat further said, he is more concerned about how his party will stand in unity in the state, as preparations for 2023 elections are hitting the top gear.

“I am concerned about reconciliation in our party. So why would I order anybody’s arrest even if the person offended me? I am the party chairman in the state and I don’t see reason why anybody would link me with such.

“Be that as it may, I have asked my people to see the police to further get clarification on what truly transpired.

“I also want to appeal to all APC members to see themselves as one and forget what might have happened among them in the past. We are poised for victory in the coming polls and we should not allowed anything to distract us,” he added
