I hold Journalists in High Esteem – Hon Adedeji Stanley

Member representing Ibadan Southwest/ Northwest Federal Constituency of Oyo State at the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Adedeji Stanley Olajide (Odidi Omo) has been described as a man with great respect for members of the Fourth Estate of The Realm and a man of the people with his characteristic manner of going about things strictly as stipulated by law and ensuring it is upheld.

This was stated in a release from his constituency office by the director, digital media and publicity Mr Wale Akanbi, he said “The happenings on Friday 3rd of July, 2020 at the COVID-19 public hearing organised by the House of Representatives ad hoc committee on COVID-19 on the need to investigate medical research in the fight against COVID-19 and other diseases in Nigeria remains fresh in the memory of all those who attended.

Nigerians from all walks of life must attest to it that the use of force although sometimes not palatable turns out to be effective especially on occasions when public health is at risk, disadvantaged or threatened. We can all bear witness that the Federal Government had to station armed forces all around the country to maintain strict compliance with the PTF guidelines during the full lockdown days.

We must at all times continue to remember that as a human, it is natural for us to err but when the safety of the public is threatened, all hands must be on deck, pressman or security personnel, lawmaker or civil official, we are all obligated to stand for national health and safety. With due respect to the gentlemen of the press who were ushered out hurriedly on the said date, we ask that you see things in the light of safety for all and understand the situation as one of a husband and father who just wants to passionately make everyone safe.”
