I Sat Beside Makinde At Ibadan PDP Rally, Yet I Don’t Have Coronavirus – Bode George

Chief Olabode George, a former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday said it is unfortunate that the All Progressives Congress (APC) are playing politics with the Coronavirus pandemic by claiming Governor Seyi Makinde contracted the disease at the Unification rally of the PDP held in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

Speaking in a chat with Daily Independent, George said if it was true that the governor actually contracted the virus at the PDP rally, everyone present at the rally would have been infected by now.

George who said he sat beside Makinde at the rally and till now he has not been sick nor developed any symptoms of Coronavirus added that the governor attended the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja after the rally was held and likely came in contact with an infected person.

“That is a load of trash from APC that the governor got the virus at the PDP rally. I was at the rally also and nothing has happened to me. How can it be the rally? If it is the rally, all of us would have been sick by now”.

“ I sat beside him at the rally and that is almost about a week and half now. The governor went for National Economic Council (NEC) meeting in the Villa. I have spoken with him and he is doing fine.
Why are they politicising this issue?”.

“What has the rally got to do with coronavirus? The rally took place before the first person died from the virus. They know the truth that the fact that the governor tested positive has nothing to do with the rally. They are just being mischievous. Let them call out their people and let’s see how many people will come out”.
