The four Chinese nationals abducted by unknown gunmen last week while supervising the construction of the Ibadan –Lagos standard gauge railway project have been released by their abductors.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Police Command, Mr Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed their release yesterday and told the press that the Chinese nationals had been released after an extensive manhunt launched by the police. He declined to go into more detail about how the abductees secured their release, however.
It could be recalled that the kidnappers had stormed the site of the rail project to abduct the foreign nationals last week and killed a police inspector in the process, taking his AK-47 firearm away with them.
