Management of The Polytechnic, Ibadan on Monday celebrated the emergence of Governor ‘Seyi Makinde as the re-elected governor in the March 18 gubernatorial election in Oyo State.
The great citadel of learning made this known in a release signed by the Registrar, Mrs Modupe Theresa Fawale and made available to newsmen by the Director of Public Communications, Alh. Soladoye Adewole, adding that the governor’s emergence is a well deserved victory and God’s answer to the prayers of Oyo State civil servants.
The statement partly read: “The Governing Council, Management, Staff and Students of The Polytechnic, Ibadan celebrate the re-election of the Oyo State Governor into office for a second term. This victory is well-deserved and it is a recognition of hard work for the good people of Oyo State.
“The governor has been exceptional in his performance during his first term and has supported the institution on all accreditation of programmes by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and other Professional bodies.
“The governor who is also the Visitor to the institution had demonstrated sterling leadership qualities which endeared him to the good people of Oyo State and thus made his second term re-election a landslide victory.
“By the re-election of the governor, the prayers of the Civil and Public Servants as well as Retirees and the entire people of Oyo State have been answered with the Governor’s landslide victory at the polls on Saturday”, the statement added.
In the meantime, the authorities of The Polytechnic, Ibadan have prayed to God to continue to guide and guard the governor as he mounts the mantle of leadership of the state for another four years.
